Tallassee Jazz Fest at Southside Middle School in Tallassee


We are very excited to announce the lineup for the second annual Tallassee Jazz Fest at Southside Middle School in Tallassee!

This year, we are featuring the University of Alabama and Auburn University bands, as well as Troy University; Saraland High School (Mobile); Minor High School (Birmingham); the Phenix City Big Band from Central High School; Elmore County High School (Eclectic); and professional ensembles The Montgomery Recreators and The Auburn Knights.

Our performance lineup is as follows:

Saturday, April 14

5:00 - Southside Middle School 7th Grade Jazz Band

5:30 - University Of Alabama Two O'clock Jazz Band

6:00 - Saraland High School Jazz Band

6:30 - Southside Middle School 8th Grade Jazz Band

7:00 - University Of Alabama Crimson Faculty Quintet

7:30 - Troy University Show Band

8:00 - University Of Alabama Jazz Ensemble

Sunday, April 15

1:00 - Southside Middle School 7th Grade Jazz Band

1:30 - Auburn Knights Jazz Orchestra

2:00 - Southside Middle School 8th Grade Jazz Band

2:30 - Phenix City/Columbus Big Band

3:00 - Elmore County High School Jazz Band

3:30 - Montgomery Recreators

4:00 - Minor High School Jazz Band

4:30 - Tallassee High School Jazz Band

5:00 - Auburn University Jazz Ensemble

Admission is a donation to Southside Middle School. Concessions will be sold in the gymnasium lobby.

Judge Dale Segrest and The Tallassee Community Development Corporation are pre-selling their famous barbecue items, also. Make checks payable to the Tallassee CDC. A portion of the sales of these concessions will go to the Tallassee Music Department. You may purchase the tickets from Segrestlaw, Mr. Don Bryant Or Mr. Robby Glasscock (Ths), or Mr. Michael Bird (Sms). Boston butts-$30; brisket-$50; camp stew-$12; ribs-$25 for one rack, $45 for two, $20 each for three or more.

Tripp Storm and the Tallassee Farmers Market will be in action, also.  They will be selling arts and crafts, as well as fresh locally grown  fruits and vegetables, throughout the Jazz Fest weekend near City Hall  and Veterans Park in east Tallassee.

April is jazz education month in the United States. We look forward to celebrating it with you in Tallassee, the “Treasure on the Tallapoosa,” April 14 and 15!
